Author Spotlight: Bill Fortin, Author of Redeye: Fulda Cold

Today's Author Spotlight zones in on Bill Fortin, author of Redeye: Fulda Cold. We will be doing a review on this book sometime this month shortly after we receive our review copy, and this addition to our Author Spotlight and review section is part of our new monthly military feature. After our last review of Shell Shock by Dr. Steve Stahl, we received an influx of positive feedback from readers requesting more military-styled book reviews and features. We are more than happy to oblige. Without further ado, here's more about Bill Fortin and his new book.

In RedEye: Fulda Cold, Bill Fortin uses his military experience to create an exquisite portrayal of life in the military during the Cold War era. Combining fictional characters with personalities he served with in the military, builds a full and complex world onto the pages of this book, giving the reader an opportunity to sink into the 1960s American youth, full of curiosity and interest in the highly advanced technological weaponry that surrounded them everyday.

About the Book

Rick Fontain, a 19 year old college student who is drafted into the Army narrates this fascinating tale of emerging high tech weaponry, military strategy and international intrigue. Central to the action is RedEye, the Army¹s first shoulder-fired guided missile system and a first glimpse of our development of drone aircraft technology. Rick’s aptitude for the new infrared sensor technology and his leadership skills place him and his handpicked team at the center of the high stakes political and military game of cat and mouse.

RedEye: Fulda Cold depicts the best qualities of American youth in the 1960s. While this story is fiction, it addresses real life issues about overcoming adversity, having a positive attitude, serving one¹s country and developing an unshakeable esprit de corps. We can see these same inspiring values in the men and women who proudly serve in the U.S. military that protect our precious freedoms today.

Bill Fortin is a remarkable author, not only for his ability to portray real-life situations in a fictional tone, but because his original plotline and character personalities are extremely well thought out and different in comparison to the flood of generalized books being published today in this particular topic. We invite you to purchase RedEye: Fulda Cold, (we will provide links towards the bottom of this feature) and read through the book with us and join us again when we review this incredible story. RedEye: Fulda Cold is published by Cold War Publications and Bill Fortin is represented by The Cadence Group.
