Author Spotlight: Fritz Scheffel, Healthcare Industry Writer

Today's Author Spotlight is on Fritz Scheffel, a leading author in the pharmaceutical and healthcare genres. He has over 40 years of experience in the industry as a former pharmacist and on the other side of the fence as a patient.

His current book, "HealthScare: Why Health Care Is Not About Your Health", catalogs the "ultimate failure of government and insurance involvement in the healthcare industry". The author goes in-depth into the subject and argues that the healthcare system can be changed and that it can be made to function efficiently. His book entertains theories on how the healthcare industry can become cost-effective for consumers and reap more benefits for them.

We recently did an interview with author Fritz Scheffel and we asked him about his experience in the healthcare industry and his personal views on the subject, as well as what this book means to him. Here's what he had to say:

What do you hope to achieve through your work?

Scheffel responded to this thought provoking question by saying:
"This book represents a chance for me to help Americans understand truths about healthcare. I did little or no respect for my book, I LIVED MY EXPERIENCES! I fully understand the political climate will make it hard for people to believe what I write about, but someday long after I'm gone from this earth, someone will pick up HealthScare, read it and say "He had it right."
We asked Scheffel if he had any upcoming works or books planned to be released within the next few years. We learned something astounding about this author. He was still recovering from complications as a result of his stroke, and the way he wrote this book is inspiring to many:
"This book required a lot of effort because of my stroke. I typed everything with one finger. If I write another book it will be about my stroke experience and how hard it was to overcome the disabilities I experienced and how you too can overcome."
For every interview, long or short, we always ask this question; who is the author's favorite author? We believe that every author is inspired by another author, and that many of their key talents can be seen reflected in their own work, whether its a style or writing, or the motivation behind pursuing a dream. Scheffel told us:
"My favorite author is the late Louis L'amour because of the values he held and how he incorporated them into everything he wrote."
We believe that Scheffel is an inspiring author and he tackles many of the issues we as a society are having problems with today. This book is worth reading by anyone who has experienced any similar situations.
